Shelby, at the New York International Auto Show introduced a Ford Mustang that generated a jaw-dropping 1000 hp, and now it seems like the company has not had enough with this model. According to John Luft — Shelby President, despite the car breaking into four-digit horsepower figures, the Mustang has mods prepared for it through 2020. He added that the upcoming vehicled produced by Ford will have some Shelby treatment.

“Our plans include everything from the Mustang to looking at future development of the EcoBoost motor. There could be a Focus or Fusion development in our future,” he said.

The company also plans to introduce a new model — a halo sports car, similar to the Series 1. But the real problem is with the economic factors and industry changes that the automaker faces and this idea may not be taken off the table any time soon. Luft hopes to see Ford release another GT because he says if he could wind the clock back they would have had a Shelby package for the Ford GT.

“I’ve heard rumors of Ford bringing back the GT. Trust me; we will not be asleep at the wheel this time. So if Ford actually comes to market with a new GT, then we’ll be right there with them. We will not miss that window again,” he said.
