Students Design Zero-Emission Electric Car

DeLaSalle students develop zero-emission car

Achieving an auto breakthrough, a team of students from DeLaSalle School in Kansas City, Mo., has recently developed an electric car that produces zero emissions. Development of this car is the result of their project work and it has been tested successfully giving zero emission on Bridgestone’s Texas Proving Grounds. The students have applied to the Guinness World Records to approve and acknowledge this feat.

The student-developed plug-in electric car finds its existence over a chassis of the 2000 Lola Indy. Ultra light-weight aerodynamic body of the car along with Bridgestone Ecopia EP100 tires helps it to pass through the air easily. A high-end electric propulsion system specially designed for this future vehicle makes the car a unique one.

Technocrats from Bridgestone Americas’ Technical Center in Akron, Ohio had helped the students to develope the all-electric car. During the test run, the developers recorded a fuel economy of 300 mpg for the car. The students are now finding a suitable automaker, who can make their project turn into full-scale commercial entity on a world platform.
