Tauro V8 Spider Unveiled

The Spanish carmaker Tauro Sport Auto unveiled their new V8 Spider. Following the launch of the stylish Spano supercar from GTA Motors in March, and the announcement last month of a new model from Aspid, Tauro is now celebrating the launch of the new V8 powered convertible sports car. The model features bespoke bodywork which borrows a few characterisitics with the Fisker Karma and Alfa Romeo C8 Competizione. The Tauro V8 Spider is based on the chassis of a Pontiac Solstice.

Two examples of the two-seater roadster have been built so far, one is black and the other white. The V8 Spider is powered by a GM-sourced 6.2-L LS3 V8 engine that produces 434 hp and 586 Nm of torque. This is the same engine found in the Corvette supercar. The engine is mated to either a manual or automatic transmission. As an add-on, the company also offers a couple of performance packages which allow the engine to develop 473 hp, 523 hp and more than 641 hp. The Tauro has also been fitted with a limited slip differential, independent suspension and ventilated disc brakes.

The small soft-top roadster weighs in at just 1,200 kg. In the interior, premium leather can be found on almost all surfaces and can be ordered in virtually any color. The notable exceptions in the interior include leather-wrapped dashboard, Alcantara trim and an aluminum gear knob on models equipped with six speed transmission. So far only two cars have been built though Tauro plans a total of 30 cars altogether. The company is currently taking in orders and expects the final pricing of the car to be 100,000 euros (approximately $125,315).
