Will The 2015 Ford Mustang Look Like An Aston Martin?

Ford is gradually adapting all its cars to take on the new family face. The new grille and headlamp design which they are integrating into their new models have an undeniable Aston Martin styling influence. Take the Fusion as an instance. Park it next to an Aston Martin and the resemblance is more than striking. However, Ford is yet to put up that front end treatment on any of their two-door cars. That’s going to change by next year as the spy shots of the 2015 Ford Mustang indicate that the Aston-look is definitely right there behind those covers.

The new take on the Mustang appears to have either subdued or sacrificed the classic Mustang lines for the new curvaceous family face. The test mule has retained the same body panels from the A-pillar till the rear. But that will change as well in time. As more images surface, we’ll be able to see the evolution in spy shots itself. But one thing is for sure. The front end is going to witness a sea change. The details on the engine options are not out yet. But there will be plenty of room in the engine bay to plonk in Ford’s 5.0 liter, V8 engine. We also hear that the live rear axle will be replaced with an independent rear suspension.

Expected to make its debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the new Mustang’s unveiling date will coincide with the debut of the first car back in 1964 at the World’s Fair.

I hope that Ford builds this version of the Mustang, and that it does have a full-fastback design. This would be the most sleek Mustang in the car’s 50 year history.
