2008-2010 Dodge Challenger owners have a chance to make their cars look as cool as the new 2011 Challenger 392 model, thanks to a new Challenger Supercharger Package from American tuner Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.

The Supercharger pack adds a Magnuson TVS 2300 intercooled supercharger with a standard black powdercoat finish and an optional chrome upgrade; a 160-degree thermostat, upgraded fuel injectors and a high-flow intake system. Aimed at both the 5.7 L and 6.1 L Hemi V8 engines, the tuning kit notches up the 6.1 L’s output to 500 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, from the stock performance of 373 hp and 355 lb-ft of torque. Not a bad figure at all, considering the low 6 psi of boost provided by the kit.

The results were made clear by Lingenfelter when it took the tuned 6.1 L Challenger for a ride at the Muncie Dragway in Indiana and reached a top speed of 193 km/h clocked at 12.03 seconds. The company says that a little more boost and some tweaking around will enhance this output even more.

In fact, Lingenfelter is so confident of this Supercharger Package that it has offered a 3 year/36,000 mile (57492 km) warranty for its performance and Lingenfelter certificate of authenticity and Lingenfelter fender badges to go with it. Interested owners can look forward to the turnkey package which will come fully with installation, testing, custom, calibration, and ‘before and after’ chassis dyno reports to note the change.
