2009 RANGE ROVER AUTOBIOGRAPHY
Due to the prevailing economic slowdown, most of the car manufacturers have been posting negative growth along with never seen before losses. The recession has spared no one and has affected the leading American, European and Japanese car makers. As a part of preparing for the tackling the recession hit market, most of the car makers have reduced the options the customers have. For example, The BMW 3 series is sold in America with just 2 engine options, both having the same displacement. They are not selling the diesel engine 3 series which makes much more sense with at this time with its brilliant economy. Few other manufacturers have responded to recession by offering the car in a single specification.
The general trend has been to increase the sales, or to put it in another way control the dip in sales by giving massive discounts and introducing cheaper models of the existing car by skipping on the quality of materials and/or standard equipments. However, The British SUV makers Land Rover is following another method. Ever since Land Rover, along with Jaguar was separated from the ailing Ford, both the companies have been following an aggressive business plan. The Jaguar has launched the all new XJ in July 2009.
The 2008 British international auto show saw the unveiling of the new top of the range Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography. It costs Ten thousand dollars more than the fully kitted Range Rover Supercharged. Land Rover has decided to beat recession by taking their cars to a never seen before levels of luxury. The autobiography gets a mild exterior upgrade in the form of new badges, grilles and a new 20 inch twin seven spoke alloy wheels.
The Autobiography has been pampered with high quality leather inside the car. The leather used in the car has been treated to obtain a semi aniline finish that will deepen the leathers character with age, while retaining their suppleness. The Autobiography uses more leather inside than any previous of the leather lined tanks made by Land Rover. The animal lovers might be angry at Land Rover for slaughtering more high quality cows than ever for making the Autobiography, but the cows did not die in vain. Its skin is going to keep the butts of some of the most influential people in the world warm, in the most luxurious SUV ever. Along with the leather wrapped steering and seats, the Autobiography has its dashboard, door casing, center console and storage bins all finished in high quality leather, filling the interior with rich aroma of leather.
More bad news for green peace, the Autobiography gets a fourteen piece wood trim inside. The passengers on the second row seats can have their own Switzerland inside the car, thanks to an individual zone climate control.
The car is sure to find more potential customers with in a month than the number of them planed to be made in their British facility in a year, 330 out of which 200 Autobiographies will find its way across the ocean to the US.
