Ford has issued recall on 2012 Lincoln Navigator for Faulty Head Restraints

Due to faulty head restraints with inadequate weld on their support brackets Ford has issued a recall on its 2012 Lincoln Navigator SUV as well as the Expedition. According to Ford, the seat head restraint may not provide the required strength and increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. In total around 569 vehicles have been affected, however, the affected head restraints are only those found on the right-hand seat of the second row, and the only affected vehicles are 2012 Navigators and 2012 Expeditions built between November 19 and December 2, 2011.

Owners of the affected vehicles should take their cars to the nearest Ford or Lincoln dealer, which will replace the head restraints free of charge. For further information you can also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at 1-888-327-4236 (reference recall campaign number 12V034000) or Ford at 1-866-436-7332
