Production Version of the Modern Day Facel Vega May Arrive by the 2014 Paris Auto Show

French luxury brand, Facel Vega, unveiled its first car at the 1954 Paris Auto Show. The brand was initially successful but eventually died out by 1964 because of reliability issues. There have been talks about the brand’s resurrection, along with its Vega nameplate, but there is also a possibility that the preview sketches and renderings of the modern day Facel Vega that you see in the brand’s recently launched facebook page are just the work of some highly imaginative design students.

The sporty grand tourer that you see in the sketches has a 2+2 seating layout, a retro-styled dashboard, traditional Facel grille, and custom luggage set. French media, such as AutoPlus is reporting that this modern Vega may be unveiled in concept form at the 2012 Paris Auto Show in September.

The car’s exterior styling is a sportier version of the Facel Vegas of the fifties and sixties and the layout suggests a front-engine vehicle with plenty of room for a RWD transmission and driveshaft. A production version may arrive by the 2014 Paris Auto Show to mark the 60th anniversary of the launch of the original 1954 Facel Vega.
