Review – 2009 Nissan Sentra
Nissan introduces the family sedan, the 2009 Nissan Sentra. The Sentra has come new for the year 2009. This is a 5-passenger family sedan, available in six different trims. The basic model comes with an I4 engine and a 6-speed, manual transmission. The Sentra has an orthodox Sedan outfit. It has similarities with the details of the Nissan Altima. This is a fresh car but with not much of the toughness expected.
The Sentra 2.0 comes with a 2.0 L, 16-valve, DOHC, SEFI, I4 engine with 24 mpg of mileage in the city and 31 mpg of mileage on the highway. The power output is 140 hp at 5100 rpm and theĀ torque rating is 147 lb-ft at 4800 rpm. The SE-R Spec-V trim produces 200 hp of power. The 2.0 Sentra has the independent strut front suspension. There is a 23 mm front stabiliser bar as part of the suspension. The rear suspension is a semi-independent torsion-beam suspension. The transmission is an adaptive, automatic transmission. The steel wheels convey the transmission with the aid of SBRP 205/60 HR15, all-season tires. The rack and pinion steering has vehicle-speed sensing ability. The stopping ability of the Sentra includes power, vented disc brakes in the front and power, drum brakes at the rear. The usual safety features of a Nissan take form in the Sentra as well. The anti-theft feature and automatic locking facility are some of them.
The cloth seats are bucket seats at the front and transform into bench seats at the rear. The seats have adjustable headrests on them. The rear seating is of the theater style. The interior of the Sentra has carpet adorning its floor, both of the passenger cabin and the trunk. The doors have suede cloth on them to provide better appearance. The interior has the delayed courtesy light, and the trunk light to add a finer touch to the looks. Interior air filter and manual, air conditioning provides comfort to the passengers. The 2009 Sentra also comes with the regular entertainment package that is part of most other Nissans.
Although the Sentra sports a fresh look, it is not a revolutionary entry into the sedan family. The base model of the Sentra costs $15,350 while the SE-R Spec-V model costs $21,160.
