Will Audi build a new, B8 version of the RS4? Will it launch both sedan and wagon versions of the next generation of its fastest A4? Sites across the internet are debating the same with rumors like the B8 RS4 having been scrapped so that Audi can accelerate the launch of the next RS6 doing the rounds. Reports have also said that the next RS4 with its 450 horsepower V-8 engine being too close in performance to the next RS6 uber-sedan and the possibility of buyers shifting away from the higher margin car might be reason for the automaker having second thoughts.
However, the most recently received information confirms that the RS4 Avant will after all hit dealers in the third quarter of 2012 and that it’s likely to be a Europe only model and the B8 version of the RS4 sedan may or may not see production. Until the anticipated launch of the RS5 this fall, the only RS option will be the TT-RS coupe.
