Ghosn mentioned that the Infiniti electric vehicle can be expected in the near future, and it will demonstrate an inspired performance. However, no pictures gets revealed yet. The new offerings will be as a part of the efforts from Nissan to reduce the global concerns regarding Co2 emissions.

“This low-cost multi-purpose vehicle would allow ambulance drivers to drive directly into the hospital or van and taxi drivers to enter urban areas where CO2 emissions are restricted. It’s a flexible, practical vehicle with zero emissions.” said Carlos Ghosn on the NV200 EV.

Nissan is working on the zero emission vehicles on a global scale and Nissan Leaf to be shown at Tokyo is an example. Nissan Leaf is an environment friendly, electric car that will be available in both North American and Japanese market in 2010. This all-electric vehicle features a front mounted electric motor powered by a set of laminated Lithium ion battery pack. Battery charging can be done using conventional, 110/220V outlet or with quick charge facility. The hybrid powertrain will make109 hp, power and 206.5 lb-ft of torque. The motor also provides it a range of 160 kilometers on a single charge. It will cost in the range of $25,000-$33,000. Nissan will begin its mass-marketing efforts of the Nissan Leaf in 2012.

After revealing the Nissan leaf at Tokyo, Nissan will also make an electric version of its recently revealed NV200 commercial van. The vehicle is made for ambulance and taxi drivers and will be a flexible vehicle that will be perfect for urban environments. The third offering is a stylish, four-seat, compact luxury electric car from Infiniti and according to Ghosn, the car will be specially designed for delivering high performance.
